People at the world’s most influential companies, firms, and institutions turn to me when change is on the horizon.
Whether you’re part of a Fortune 50, everyday start-up, heroic nonprofit, or somewhere in between, you and your company offer the world something that is uniquely you.
I divide my time between private clients and institutional clients. Here’s a short breakdown:
Private client types:
I’ve helped active, stealth, and passive job seekers at every professional level and across nearly ever industry, vertical, and function.
Here’s a broad brush of my typical client profile:
Board directors seeking additional appointments, or retiring executives wanting to do the same
C-level executives preparing for a new chapter
V-level executives or senior professionals not quite in the C-suite, but looking to get there
Academics or higher ed administrators transitioning into industry
Mid-career professionals analyzing their market value
Thoughtful young professionals taking a long view on their career development
Many make $175,000 to $850,000 annually, with roughly 25% commanding total compensation in the millions. Their companies often drive hundreds-of-billions in revenue, and trillions in value, or they’re uniquely poised to get there.
Many have been recruited and promoted over 15 to 25 years, and want to finally shape the direction of their own career.
Roughly 85%-90% have heard through referral that I use the résumé writing and career document development process as an in-depth tool for executive coaching, career planning, interview preparation, and job search.
In some cases, I’ve worked with every other executive at a company. I’m also proud to have worked with entire families and friend groups. Some of the clients I started with 25+ years ago now refer their grown children, wanting them to have the insights they would have liked when they were just leaving school.
Institutional client types:
My work with companies and institutions generally falls into two camps: (1) those who bring me on to train their employees, members, or students, and (2) those who want the highly specialized branding that I offer as it applies to their key leaders.
These include start-ups and incubators; mid-market companies; boutique consultancies and advisories; universities, think tanks, institutes, and grantmaking institutions. While most of my private clients are from the Fortune 50, I haven’t yet stepped in to help with their public-facing materials because they already have robust marketing and PR disciplines.

Board Directors, Investors, Advisors & VC/PE Executives
Even a seat at the pinnacle of corporate life can foster a measure of uncertainty. There comes a day when even those who breathe rarified air need to step back and properly evaluate and narrate their own long-term value.
C-suite Leaders, Founders & Captains of Industry
With every stakeholder watching, executives and other corporate decision-makers considering their futures sometimes need a thought partner who can help them quietly position themselves for that unique and often rare next step.
Innovators, Purple Squirrels, Consultants & Outliers
From inventors to visionaries to taste-makers … to people who’ve built and sold companies or make their living advising others … even the people who bang their own drum occasionally need clarity from an outside perspective.
Senior & Mid-career Leaders & Management Professionals
The herd thins and roles increasingly intersect as leaders in science, technology, business, and the liberal arts (STEAM) advance their careers. But while opportunities narrow, the right ones become more rewarding.
Nonprofit & University Administrators & Educators
In one of life’s paradoxes, the people who write and advocate for others can sometimes hit a wall when building their own case for support. Good news: interpersonal objectivity is accessible with a bit of guidance.
Early Careerists, MBA/PhD Candidates
The value you bring to a company in the earliest parts of your career is likely significant if you know how to identify it. And if you know how to identify it, you can claim it.

Pre-recruiting Introductions
for Clients’ Companies
Before investing in the time and cost of a formal search for an ideal candidate, give me 2-3 days to see if someone in my network is a fit for the role.
“The number of pings I’ve gotten since we worked together is unbelievable, in part because I’m now working for [Company Name], but also because my story is clear and hits all the right points.”
