Who We Are

The Redick Group, LLC, is an executive identity and corporate branding firm, helping people and companies communicate their value when the primary asset is human knowledge, experience, and judgment.

About Jared Redick:

Based in the San Francisco Bay Area, Jared Redick brings nearly three decades of experience advising C-suite executives, board directors, and rising professionals across business, technology, finance, healthcare, and law. His core specializations include executive positioning, career development, and corporate communications. He also creates brand and communications assets for boutique professional services firms, advisories, and consultancies.

Before founding The Redick Group, Jared held executive and legal recruiting roles with nationally retained search firms in New York and San Francisco, conducting searches for Fortune 15 companies, top law firms, and major nonprofits. He has deep expertise in supporting executives through career transitions, branding, and decision-making, and is a sought-after speaker and trainer for organizations such as Beyond Academia, CFA Institute, University of California, National Résumé Writers’ Association, and Harvard Club of Washington, D.C.

He is the author of Jared Redick’s Job Description Analysis (JDA), a widely used career decision-making tool among Fortune 500 executives and aspiring leaders. His use of “The JDA” with the University of California inspired career development tutorials by the Modern Language Association (MLA), and his ideas have appeared in American Recruiters, Forbes, Business Insider, MSN, AOL, American Bar Association, Legal Career Journal, LinkedIn, The World News, and Yahoo! Finance, among others.

In 2013, Jared dedicated part of his practice to supporting up-and-coming leaders in navigating critical career transitions. His programs helped University of California PhD candidates in STEM and the humanities successfully shift from academia to industry—many of whom today hold leadership roles at some of the world’s most influential companies and firms.

History

1984

At 14, Jared has his résumé written by a local temp agency, falls in love with the art, stumbles across “Résumés That Knock ‘Em Dead,” and starts writing fictitious résumés on his blue Smith Corona typewriter.

1997

Post-college and inundated with friend-and-family requests, Jared begins charging for résumé writing at age 27. Now on a Mac.

2000

Jared stumbles into retained executive search in New York, NY, where he works with Marks, Paneth & Shron Consulting at age 30, and recruits for nonprofit regional and national institutions and associations. He moonlights as a résumé writer.

2003

Jared joins retained executive search firm, The Alexander Group in San Francisco, CA, at age 33, where he recruits for Fortune-ranked companies in finance, tech, and the law. He continues moonlighting as a résumé writer, now on a PC.
He launches v.1 of TheResumeStudio.com, and the careers of several future leaders.
— 2005

2008

At 38, Jared opens The Résumé Studio full time with v.2 of the website and an e-newsletter.

Within two weeks, he has 27 clients. Turns out, that’s too many clients at once and Mac isn’t the way to go just yet, although he’s knee deep in Apple devices.
He develops The JDA over a plate of nachos, and a thousand ships are launched.
— 2009

2011

Jared refreshes TheResumeStudio.com and begins officing on Post Street in downtown San Francisco, working in-person and virtually.

2022

At 51, Jared rebrands The Résumé Studio as The Redick Group, working across the spectrum of professional careers. Home base is San Francisco, with meetings conducted entirely on Zoom. Still on a PC.
