Many people have experienced being laid off, and whether they’re suddenly applying for jobs or networking with friends, there always comes a moment when you need to show your materials.
The urge is to slap something together, call it good, and then spray-and-pray.
I’m Jared Redick and I’ve helped just north of 2,700 people step back, take a breath, and develop materials that represent who they’ve become and where they want to go. Those private client engagements usually take 7-20 hours to complete, depending on complexity of the pivot, whether the client is an active, stealth, or passive job seeker, and how much time they have to find the next role. Most of my clients aren’t in immediate need of a job, so we take weeks and sometimes months to plan a pivot.
That’s likely not the case here, so I’m opening everything I’ve got to share with you principles you might not have heard, and if you did, they might be outdated because you now have more experience and the job search process has changed a bit.
